We elevated discourse on sustainable food systems at COP27 with EIT Food, highlighting their role as hosts of the Food Systems Pavilion.
As the globe's preeminent climate change event, the Conference of the Parties (COP) gathers over 100 Heads of State and 35,000 participants worldwide. In 2022, EIT Food played a prominent role at COP27, co-launching The Food Systems Pavilion. Co-hosting across multiple days, EIT Food aimed to be catalysts in the vital dialogue around sustainable diets, innovation in food systems, and the digital transformation of agriculture.
EIT Food's digital presence during the event required more than mere visibility; they aimed for influential and active participation in online dialogues.
Amidst COP27's bustling and wide-ranging discourse, meaningful online engagement requires aligning one's voice with their unique perspective while engaging where their insight is most impactful.
Through weeks of social listening and engagement, EIT Food contributed to over 30 conversations online, interacted with a many organisations and change-makers, alongside kickstarting a number of conversations around the importance of sustainable food and agrifood systems.
Our approach was guided by four pillars:
Facilitating over 30 engaged conversations with global organisations and changemakers, EIT Food accelerated discourse on sustainable food systems, cementing their role as global champions of food sustainability.
We acknowledged another key objective: for EIT Food's online presence during the event to act as a catalyst for initiating and participating in discussions extending beyond COP27. With that in mind, our strategy aimed to cultivate a platform for ongoing dialogue with real-world impact.
